The Dayton Builders Exchange

Serving the Miami Valley Construction Industry for More Than 110 Years

The Dayton Builders Exchange has long been a trusted source for construction reporting, project information, plans, specifications, industry education, and professional connection.

A Strong Foundation

The Dayton Builders Exchange (DBX) was established more than 110 years ago as a central resource for area plans, project information, and the latest industry news. As membership grew, so did its services, expanding to include a monthly publication, The Construction Journal, educational programming, and industry recognition initiatives.

Over time, the construction industry has continued to evolve. Advances in technology, changes in Dayton’s economy, and increasing demands for greater productivity and precision have all shaped the services DBX provides to support design professionals, contractors, and material and service suppliers.

Looking Ahead

The Dayton Builders Exchange is working to reinvent its historic role as the hub of the construction industry in the Miami Valley. DBX has increased its focus on employee and management education, as well as industry development and promotion through programs such as Team Building Night and the revision of the Recommended Construction Practices Manual.

A remodeled plan room, classroom, and reference library, combined with the existing Board Room Facility, provide a centrally located place where the industry can gather formally and informally.

Core Services That Continue to Deliver

DBX remains committed to its core mission of providing timely and accurate construction reporting, plans, and specification services. Through participation in the BXOHIO System, DBX uses the latest technology to deliver project information from throughout Ohio, along with time-saving tools that help members refine results, identify the best leads, access targeted statistical data, and perform powerful specification searches.
