About MCAO

Advocating for Ohio’s Mechanical Contracting Industry Since the 1960s

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Ohio (MCAO) has been engaged in government affairs and lobbying on behalf of the mechanical contracting industry since the late 1960s.

The organization has evolved over time—formerly known as the Legislative Liaison Committee (LLC) and the Ohio Mechanical Contracting Industry (OMCI)—and now reflects its affiliation with Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) chapters across the state.

MCAO has also expanded to include Sheet Metal Contractors Associations, strengthening its representation of specialty trade contractors throughout Ohio.

Our Purpose

MCAO exists to promote legislation and policies that positively impact the construction industry as a whole—and organized specialty trade contractors in particular.

Leadership & Governance

MCAO is governed by a Board of Trustees, each appointed by their respective Member Association. Trustees oversee the organization’s assets and financial matters.

The full Board of Directors includes each Trustee along with an additional representative from each Member Association. Directors set policy, hire consultants, and take positions on legislation, agency matters, and judicial decisions. They also establish strategic direction and PAC fundraising goals.

Meetings & Involvement

MCAO meets three times per year on the second Tuesdays of January, May, and October.

All meetings are open to members of active or affiliate associations. Contractors are encouraged to attend and see firsthand the important work being done on behalf of the industry.
