Protecting Ohio’s Mechanical Contractors & Workforce
Advocacy
Prevailing Wage
The MCA of Ohio is dedicated to the preservation and expansion of Prevailing Wage Laws in Ohio. These laws maintain a level playing field and keep economic investment within Ohio’s workforce and communities.
Competitive Bidding
MCAO strongly supports full and open competitive bidding on every project. Without proper oversight, public construction markets are vulnerable to corruption and inefficiency.
Municipal Tax Reform
MCAO advocates for a more uniform municipal tax system to reduce complexity and compliance costs for contractors working across multiple jurisdictions.
Apprenticeship Training
MCAO supports workforce development through strong apprenticeship programs and continuous investment in training across the industry.
Workers Compensation
MCAO promotes improvements to Ohio’s Workers Compensation system to ensure fairness, efficiency, and reduced costs for employers.
Quality Contracting
Responsible contracting standards strengthen competition, improve project outcomes, and reduce unnecessary public spending.
Contractor Licensing
MCAO works with the OCILB to ensure regulations are enforced fairly and support a competitive construction environment.
Labor Relations
MCAO partners with UA and SMART to maintain strong labor-management relationships and address industry challenges collaboratively.
Political Action Committee (PAC)
Supporting MCAO’s voice at the Statehouse
It is imperative that we constantly pursue our grassroots education and relationship-building efforts with both new and incumbent legislators.
MCAO Members must play an important part in this process.
Few legislators come to the Statehouse with deep construction knowledge. One-on-one meetings remain our strongest defense against harmful policy changes and help preserve competitive bidding, fair payment terms, and prevailing wage laws.
PAC funds open doors for education, advocacy, and relationship-building with lawmakers who support our industry and Ohio’s economy.
